Information for potential service
providers:
NOW Digital has opportunities for service providers on most of
our local multiplexes.
If you are interested in providing a service on an existing or planned multiplex
then please complete and return the Service Provider Questionnaire,
which can be downloaded from this page.
Sound quality options:
Bandwidth which is available to be contracted subject to the current
Ofcom licensing regime. Stereo services can operate at 112kbps,
128kbps, 160kbps and 192kbps. Stereo services can also operate at
96kbps if using half-rate sampled audio. Mono services can operate at
96kbps, 80kbps and 64kbps. Speech only services may also operate at
48kbps if using half-rate sampled audio.
Price:
The cost is made up of a number of components. Please note that NOW Digital will not discuss financial or other terms without having first had sight of a completed questionnaire.
Basic Charge: This
is
the basic fee for capacity on the multiplex(es) the service is on. This is an annual fee, that increases with RPI each year and is billed in installments. Please note an Advance Payment of up
to initial annual fee is part of our normal contract.
Telecoms
Contribution: This is the cost of providing the telecoms link from your studio to the multiplexing centre.
Connection fee: This is the cost of installing necessary equipment to enable the service to be broadcast on the multiplex.

Information
about application process:
1. Organisations should complete this questionnaire to the best of their ability, if a question is not applicable please explain why this is the case.
2. Only valid and completed questionnaires will be assessed. Further information may be sought to assist in the evaluation of applications.
3. Returning a completed questionnaire does not constitute a biding agreement on any party.
4. Organisations which NOW Digital wishes to enter a contract with, will be contacted as to this fact and will be sent a draft contract.
5. Before entering into any contract, NOW Digital will wish to seek
confirmation of the following:
a. Sight of a valid DSPS licence
b. Confirmation of the applicant’s ability to pay the fees detailed in
the contract. This would involve confirmation from a bank or financial
adviser, and sight of a business plan.
